"Man, where's dis chick comin' from?" Race wondered aloud. "Queens," Calamity said. "Ya gotta problem wid dat?" Race shook his head. "Ya know Mira," Jack said. "My nickname's Cowboy." "Oh yeah. Why do they call ya dat?" she asked. Jack's face went blank for a minute. "Oh cuz I'm full of bull... no I'm like a bull.... I'm a stud...... oh nevermind. Dammit!" "I am never takin' you out in public again," Race stated. "It's embarrassing." "So Calamity..." Blink began. "Shut up," Calamity replied. "Cal," Mira said. "Help me bring dese drinks over dere." Calamity picked up her tray and followed Mira. "Why are ya being a bitch ta dis guy if ya like him so much?" "Because he's a cocky bastard and I don't want to encourage dat type of behavior," Calamity replied. "Unbelievable. He's gonna give up on ya soon." "When dat happens I'll be nice." The evening went on. Calamity kept shooting Blink down and Jack kept saying the wrong thing. At one point Jack began rambling on to Mira about almost anything he could think of. The bar was empty now except for the newsies, Calamity, Squeak, Mira, and the man in the dark suit sitting alone in the corner. Mira looked at the clock behind the bar. She sighed. "Well, it's one thirty. Time to close up," she said. "Oh, I'm sorry Mira," Jack said. "I'm not used ta dis. I never had problems wid goils until everyone thought I was gay. ....I'm not! but it threw me off. I'll leave now." Jack stood up and staggered toward the door. Mira caught up to him. "Jack, you'll be here tomorrow night, right?" she wondered. "No, I... oh. Yeah count on it." Jack walked out followed by his overtired friends. The man in the dark suit left as well. Mira picked up Squeak and followed Calamity upstairs.
